Description
Acetylene Gauge Normal A normal working (delivery) pressure for an acetylene gauge is 5 to 10 PSI (pounds per square inch), with 7 PSI being the most common standard setting for general welding, brazing, and cutting 1. High-Pressure Gauge (Cylinder Pressure)
- Normal Range: 220 to 250 PSI (approx. 15 bar) when the tank is completely full at normal room temperature.
- What it means: This gauge tells you how much gas is left in the tank. The pressure will drop gradually as you use the acetylene. Because acetylene is dissolved in acetone inside the cylinder, this reading can change slightly based on the outside temperature. 2. Low-Pressure Gauge (Delivery / Working Pressure)
- Normal Range: 5 to 10 PSI for most standard welding, brazing, and cutting tasks.
- Welding/Brazing: Typically set between 5 to 7 PSI.
- Cutting: Typically set between 8 to 10 PSI
